A trip to Balmuri

Updated: Nov 16, 2018

Balmuri falls is a secret heaven hidden away between the royal palace and countless temples of Mysore.

The sumptuous clear waterfall is a pure beauty that cleanses and calms your mind from all  woes and   worries. The pleasant and calm  water   fall puts luxury spa experience to shame.

It was one of those days where you just needed to take a break and get away from the loud noise and ruckus of the    city,   the   polluted air and       monotonous  lifestyle,  to experience the crisp break of summer mornings and relieve your mind from all worries and woes.

Balmuri Falls is just 144.3 km away from Bangalore and the whole trip is as cheap as Rs.500 or less for 3 people!

A couple of my friends and I woke up at 5:00AM in the morning. We quickly got changed and   set  out.  We took a bus to  Majestic and KSRTC  bus  from  there to   Srirangpatna.

We had breakfast at the restaurant in the bus stop and took a quick pit stop at the famous Srirangpatna Rangnathswamy temple.

After successfully receiving good vibes from this place, we headed off towards the falls. We   were  foot-slogging   towards the  Balmuri   while  we   found  Tipu's   death   place.

Tipu's Death Place is on the way to Balmuri from Srirangapatna.

After walking around and grasping information, we headed back to our original destination. On the way we saw small water falls and abundance of trees.  The

whole experience was extremely calming. Finally, we received the falls.

We put all our electronics and other gadgets in a bag and gave to a shop keeper near by to safe guard it. You can play them a little money to take care of it. We walked towards the falls.

The sight of the falls alone was sufficient to relax our souls. The clear cool water truly worked its miracle on as as we walked in and settled ourselves down. We didn't splash around or swim, we just laid there allowing the water to run on our head and on our bodies, calming each and every nerve as it flowed.

The cool flowing water is a treat to the eyes, body and soul. After being fully immersed in the experience, we played a little and swam around. We got out of the water, picked our bags up and changed in the changing room available there. After trekking back to the main bus stop, we had our lunch and took a bus to head back.

I'd never miss another change to go there. Some experiences are worht living again and again!
