My experience with the book:
The story doesn't primarily revolve around the lead role originally known as Marcus, but around the message that the lead is trying to convey. The central message of the story is about the higher conscious of a being and a role that humans from the Golden Age play in guiding the world in this direction. These chosen humans are called Emissaries. The first chapter begins with a current day scenario of a blogger, just a normal guy. Right after this, the story begins to traverse back and forth in time where Marcus has lived several lives and was reborn over the different ages and has varied life experiences with each of these lives. The start of his life is in 11,600 BC. Here, you learn about the highly evolved humans of the Golden Era and the transition from awakened beings to acceptance of the decline in conscious and eventually, the decline of it. The story touches upon several new enlightening concepts like concept of inner earth and outer earth. The outer earth was descending from golden age to iron age. This would bring chaos to the world and focus on superficial and insignificant things instead of positive learning. The book also focuses on a certain powerful metal- Atlantium. Atlantium is a substance that, if harnessed right, could be utilized to its full potential for the benefit of the world, but if it falls into to the wrong hands a.k.a the hands of humans from iron age, it could be dangerous and destructive. While the elders want to protect this substance, the younger ones believer that they could delay the iron age and somehow manage to use the atlantium. The children go to the inner world only to fall into a continuous pits of difficulty which completely changes their lives in the most unimaginable way. Over a period of time, you watch Marcus go through several miseries in each life and your heart aches every time. The three children gets separated and over the course of the book, their lives intertwine in the most bizarre way and I can't imagine what Marcus must have gone through. Finally, the book ends with a cliff hanger but with an expected twist.
Tamara Veitch & Rene DeFazio are like the new age prophets. This book touches several ancient Indian concepts, cosmic powers, telepathic powers and physic powers that will just make your mind explode with information. The vast knowledge and conceptual apprehension this novel provided, is truly something that I appreciate. The amount of effort and research put into this by them is noteworthy. Although "The Emissary" is a fantasy novel, Tamara and Rene references to several ancient concepts is particularly interesting and you truly begin to understand and make sense of it all. I was taken back in time and into a mystical world while reading this book and I was truly engrossed. The ability they have to be vividly descriptive and allow their readers to picturize everything is simply amazing. This book made me realize how we are driven by and towards materialism and insignificant things while we must be focusing on much greater calling. I believe that they might have actually manage to wake up my snoozed spiritual self. The idea of possessing empathy and to live with compassion instead of selfish desires is something to think about. The ability to look beyond yourself and be a part of something superior to the betterment of the society is something we all need to thrive for and Tamara and Rene are making a point to get this message across. With so much suffering in the world and so little hope left, books like this makes you believe in mankind again. To know that there are still people out there who believe in this purpose is a calming thought.
I want to see what Tamara and Rene have to bring to the table in their sequel because it focuses on current day life scenario and I can't wait to learn something new from it.
